The College of Alameda is part of the Peralta Community College District and it’s mission is to meet the educational needs of its multicultural and diverse community by providing excellent comprehensive and flexible programs, including basic skills, transfer and occupational programs, which will enable each student to achieve his/her own unique goals.

Working with the Alameda County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and their host the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce to advise business owners and companies. This includes workshops on marketing, social media, sales, and business planning. Community liaison and offering businesses advisory services.

The Oakland Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center provides a warm and friendly environment conducive to learning and succeeding. The facility offers free or reduced cost services to children with speech/language disorders (Aphasia & Dyslexia).

The Clinic offers complete speech, language, communication evaluations and individualized and long-term treatment for children from 3 years to 21 years, who exhibit language disorders.

The devastating effects of these disorders can be treated if identified early. With treatment for the child and guidance for the family, the majority of these language-disabled children are able to compete successfully with their peers as responsible, productive individuals.
