David Mitroff Ph.D., the founder of Piedmont Avenue Consulting and the sought-after keynote speaker in Asia, went on a business trip to Turkey, Korea, China, and Hong Kong from 2/24/2018 to 3/11/2018. During this time he spoke 7 times, judged 6 different pitch contests and meet with numerous companies, startup accelerators, and government agencies who he advised on expanding to Silicon Valley.
David added that he is invited to several events in Asia in the near future. “I have learned so much and made so many business connections that I will be paid to come back in 3 months and be even more valuable to everyone.”.
The following is the itinerary of David’s Business trip, where he shared his wisdom and insight to his mentees and business partners.

1Destination: Istanbul Turkey
The first stop was Istanbul, Turkey, where he was a part of the INNOGATE event hosted by Istanbul University. The INNOGATE is an international startup acceleration program, which helps the technology startups in Turkey expand their market to the US and around the globe.
David offered his consultation and mentoring, also giving insightful speeches to the event. Over a span of seven days, he also met with leaders from over 20 companies including Okto People, Ituari Teknokent, Movenpick Hotel Istanbul, Rofoods, and Miops Teknoloji. He was the mentor and marketing expert who spoke to the group on how to launch a product in Silicon Valley.
2Destination: Seoul, Korea
For the next 3 days, David stayed in the Itaewon District, a very popular area in Seoul, known for its restaurants and nightlife. Greg Appelhof, the founder of Spring, and Greg Fisher, the founder of the Berkeley Sourcing Group were on this part of the Asia trip with David.
David was the mentor and expert for the Hardware massive pitch contest, where he consulted many startup companies on how to expand their business to the US.
David also participated in the ceremony of Hardware Massive signing MOU with Korea CCEI, Korea’s Government Business Development Organization.
3Destination: Shenzhen, China
The Pitch Contest in Shenzhen was at Simplywork in the Nanshan District. There were about 120 attendees including VC’s and Indiegogo team members. David Mitroff, Greg Fisher and Greg Appelhof presented Strategy and Insights on entering the USA market to the Hardware Massive community. Then we judged a pitch contest which included Nick from Pushpin and Jakob from Firstshotz.
4Destination: Hong Kong
At the Hardware Massive Event in Hong Kong, we all spoke on bringing your product to Silicon Valley and then judged the Pitch Contest. David shared his knowledge of how to expand the business to the US and marketing strategies.
